Fountains Abbey

The first World Heritage site in Yorkshire, the dramatic twelfth century Abbey ruins at Fountains, are the largest monastic ruins in the country. Set in the naturally beautiful Skell valley, with awe inspiring cliff faces to either side and the river Skell running under the Abbey, this is a spectacular place to visit.

JORVIK Viking Centre

York is home to the world famous JORVIK Viking Centre, which is a ‘must-see’ for visitors to the city of York and is one of the most popular visitor attractions in York.

Leeds

Leeds is the only English city outside London with its own repertory theatre, opera house and ballet companies. With the Leeds Art Gallery named as having one of the UK’s best collections of contemporary British art and home to the Royal Armouries and more listed buildings than in any other English city outside London, Leeds has lots to offer.

Bradford (including the National Media Museum)

The National Media Museum covers seven floors of a city centre building in Bradford. It offers permanent interactive galleries about photography, television and animation, three cinemas, two exhibition galleries and, a number of learning activity areas.

Haworth (including a visit to The Brontë Sisters’ Museum)

Haworth village is situated in a beautiful area of the English countryside, at the edge of the Pennine moors in West Yorkshire, made famous by the writing of the Brontë sisters. The world of Wuthering Heights is brought to life in this famous village, where the sisters’ home is now the Brontë Parsonage Museum.

Scarborough

Britain’s first seaside resort has been welcoming visitors for over 360 years and is still as popular as ever. Scarborough has an historic castle, award winning Sea Life Marine Sanctuary, Art Gallery and the newly refurbished Rotunda Museum.

Whitby

Come and experience Whitby, the town that inspired Bram Stoker to write Dracula. Whitby is a traditional maritime town with old cobbled streets and picturesque houses.
