UKLC Brand Development
BETA report released
Today the British Educational Travel Association (BETA) published the findings of their study into the volume and value of the inbound UK youth, student and educational travel market – showing it is worth a staggering worth £20 billion per annum to the UK economy. We think even the summary will make interesting reading for us and we will be interested in comparing their findings with our own.
In the press release Beta stated that:
“This study draws together the relevant material to better understand and present the travellers’ behaviour and attributes to a wider audience. “Investment in the international education of the young, whether for formal education or experiential travel, is felt over a lifetime – through inward investment, global trade, employment, tourism and in the overall competitiveness of Britain in the world.” said Chairman Dick Porter
Mr Porter went on to say “It’s time that we together identified the significance and characteristics of this dynamic market and planned accordingly”.
Youth travel is still the fastest growing and one of the most dynamic travel sectors. Youth travellers are knowledgeable, fun, eager, educated, focussed, ambitious and demanding. We must continue to engage these travellers, to encourage the growth of their knowledge of the world and Britain’s unique strengths.”
Laura heads to China
On Saturday 8th October Laura heads off to the People’s Republic of China to spread the word about MJA and Stars Language, soon to be relaunched as UKLC. Laura’s first stop is Dalian, a major coastal city in Northeast China, where she is making presentations to several schools, before flying south to Beijing, the capital city of China with a population of almost 20m people. In Beijing Laura is participating in the ICEF Workshop and meeting language agents from South East Asia and surrounding countries. We hope we could soon be welcoming our first students from that part of the world.

Abersoch 2011
The senior management team enjoyed a couple of days away from the stress of phones and emails in order to take stock and look hard at our operations.
Some great ideas were had, a little wine was drunk and there was an excellent chilli from Mr Pearson!
Study World
William and Celine had a really productive few days in London last week. It was great to see some old faces and catch up but also a great chance to meet new agents from all over the world looking for high quality language courses for juniors. The best bit was being able to start to tell people that the launch is coming and that soon we will be UKLC (UK Language courses)…watch this space…..
